Kasey Yang

Hi, my name is Kasey Yang.

I'm a junior at the University of Michigan School of Information concentrating in User Experience Design, with a minor in Computer Science. My interest in design stems from a passion for creating a more equitable and accessible world for everyone. Outside of design and coding, I also love reading, new urbanism, public transit, the NBA, and video games.

Myself

I got into UX because it is a combination of things I was already interested in: storytelling, empathy, and visual design. I was the storytelling and design lead of optiMize, a department at U of M, where I learned how sharing compelling stories opens up pathways for empathy and understanding, and I learned visual design along the way in various marketing and publicity roles.

The intersection of these three things is what makes UX so unique and what draws me to it, knowing that it is a constant act of collaboration and interdisciplinary learning.
